Free Parental Control Tools to
Protect Your Kids Online.
Did you know that most parental control
software has a fatal flaw in it ... that could be leaving your children dangerously
exposed on the internet. I have created some free parental control
software, tools and tips to protect
my kids ... and you can use them to keep your kids safe online too.
Parental Control is about 2 simple things
- Who they can talk to
- What they can look at
Despite all the "boogie man" stories on the internet
... which are to be taken seriously of course ... if you have parental control over
these two things then the battle to protect your kids online is won. Other
than these two things what's left to hurt your kids?
3 Simple Steps To Protecting Your
Kids Online
- Control, who they talk to - this easier
than you think. You need to control their email, chat and online
forums/discussion areas. We have some free parental control software to help you here.
- Control what they look at - This is pretty
easy, there are several commercial filtering an monitoring software programs out there ... we
show you how to get free parental control software to do this.
- Take control of the computer -
honestly this is the most
important step of all. The federal government recently spent $20
million dollars on an internet filtering system ... that a 13 year
old boy hacked within 40 minutes. This is the fatal flaw made by
the vast majority of parents and can undo all your hard work to protect
your kids in minutes. Internet monitoring software is only half the
solution that is why I have this free parental control software and
strategies for you.
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY - if you do not control your computer then everything you put in place is a
complete and total waste of time.
How to have parental control of your computer.
A program like Parental Control Panel will do this for
you (we show you how to get this $39 program free in the next section). It
gives you total control over the programs that your kids can use and most
importantly stops them being able to install programs to "hack" their way
around the other tools you put in place to protect them.
How would you know right now if your child had some
software in place that makes it look like your internet monitoring software is working but
actually has it switched off (yes these tools are out there for kids to
download and install within minutes)?
How to take parental control over who your kids can talk to.
There a 3 ways to "talk" online
- Email - Use free kids mail to block
strangers and spammers contacting your kids. This is really important
and very easy. Just go to the website and they explain it all for you
... and you get a free copy of the Parental Control Panel mentioned
above.
- Chat programs - This is things like ICQ,
Skype, Messenger. You are playing with fire if you let your children use
these programs.
Despite what most people want to tell you chat is actually OK .... but ONLY if you know exactly who your child is chatting to.
Programs like the ones mentioned above give you no parental control over who your
child can chat to. You MUST block all access to them on your child's
computer (use Parental control panel to do this). Without this internet
monitoring software you are dangerously exposed.
Through Free Kids Mail you can allow your children to chat with their
friends. You have total parental control over who is allowed to chat with your
child.
- Chat rooms/discussion forums - it is said
that "chat rooms are the
playground of the sexual predator". Do we need to discuss this
issue any more? ... no didn't think so. You need to totally block all
access to these kind of sites. Some good parental control software or
internet monitoring software will do this for you ... we show you the
best ones.
This includes sites like "MySpace" and other "social networking" sites.
I can't think of any way to say this other than you are totally nuts to let your kids use those
sites.
Do I care about your kids more than
you do?
Now that is a very provocative question ..... but for
the sake of your kids I really want to get your attention. I am in fact
begging you to take some time out to read this site and use the free tools
and software we tell you about to protect your kids. It's all FREE so the
only thing to lose is a little bit of time.
What's more important 30 minutes of TV or safe
guarding your kids from sexual predators online? No brainer isn't it. If you
want do it then I probably do care more. It has taken me MUCH more than 30
minutes to build this website to protect your kids ... so prove me wrong,
spend a little time here.
Can
I send you one email every day with
one simple thing to do to protect your kids?
What I don't want to do is totally flood you with
information on this page and then because there is soooo much, it all seems
too hard and you give up and do nothing. I don't want my desire to give you
everything right now to get it the way of actually helping your kids.
Small bight sized chunks of information that are easy
to digest ... wow I am proud of that analogy :-)
I have links to all the pieces of the strategy below
of course so if you want to get to them right now it is all there. But if
you like I will send you an email every day with a simple thing to do to
make sure you get there. I will also keep you up to date with new
developments on the internet security front and let you know about new free
tools as we find (or build) them ..... such as our kid safe, parent edited
search engine ... how good would that be!
I of course respect your privacy and I will not be
selling or renting your email address to anyone ever. I hate spam ...
probably more than you.
